In addition,  Texas' Best Lawyers recently announced that Kristen A. Algert was named Best Lawyer in America 2011 in Family Law and Kelly Ausley-Flores was named the 2012 Austin Family Law Lawyer of the Year! 

JoAl Cannon Sheridan hs been named Treasurer for the Family Law Foundation.  The Family Law Foundation is the lobbying arm of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.

Tom Ausley has been named Chair of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas for 2011 - 2012.  He most recently held the position of Vice-Chair.

Kris Algert spoke at the Collaborative Law 101 conference on the topic of making the "paradigm shift."  She addressed attendees the following day regarding "Challenging Process Issues."  The State Bar of Texas, the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas (www.collablawtexas.org), and the Collaborative Law Section of the State Bar of Texas sponsored the annual conference which took place in Dallas on March 8-11, 2011.

Kelly Caperton Fischer was selected as a Texas Rising Star by Law and Politics and the publishers of Texas Monthly  in 2009, 2010, and now again in 2011.  A "Texas Rising Star" is a top lawyer who is 40 years old or younger or who has been in practice 10 years or less.  Candidates are evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement.  Congratulation Kelly!

The State Bar of Texas' Advanced Drafting Course for family lawyers is taking place in Houston, Texas.  JoAl Cannon Sheridan is presenting her paper titled "Mapping Out Jurisdiction and Venue--Jurisdictional Drafting Issues."  JoAl is often asked to speak on the subject of jurisdiction in divorce, custody and child support cases and is one of the most knowledgeable lawyers in Texas on the subject.

Kelly Ausley-Flores, and legal assistant Ann Young, are jointly presenting a paper titled "Closing the File."
