Professionals for Collaborative Family Law

Professionals for Collaborative Family Law (PFCFL) will meet on Tuesday, October 27, 2009, from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m., in the Barbara Jordan Conference Room (2nd Floor @ 700 Lavaca).  All lawyers, financial professionals, and mental health professionals interested in Collaborative Family Law are welcome to attend.  We usually mix and mingle from 7:30 - 8:00, and at 8:00 we usually have a speaker or a pre-selected discussion topic.  PFCFL meets on the last Tuesday of each month.

How Much Does it Cost to Get Divorced?

Many clients ask this question and unfortunately there is no definite answer.  One client may spend a few thousand dollars and another client, with essentially the same facts and issues, may spend a hundred thousand dollars.  What accounts for the wide variance in costs and fees?

Interest-Based Negotiation Results in a Better Agreement

This past August, the firm's lawyers attended the Advanced Family Law Course in Dallas.  One of the speakers, Guhan Subramanian, spoke on the topic of interest-based negotiation.  Subramanian is a tenured Harvard law and business school professor and one of our country's experts on the subject of negotiations.
