Professionals for Collaborative Family Law
Professionals for Collaborative Family Law (PFCFL) will meet on Tuesday, September 29, 2009, from 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 a.m., in the Barbara Jordan Conference Room (2nd Floor @ 700 Lavaca). All lawyers, financial professionals, and mental health professionals interested in Collaborative Family Law are welcome to attend. We usually mix and mingle from 7:30 - 8:00, and at 8:00 we usually have a speaker or a pre-selected discussion topic. PFCFL meets on the last Tuesday of every month.
Collaborative Law Institute of Texas (CLI-TX)
CLI-TX's board of trustees met in Austin yesterday and today. The board reviewed progress on goals set last year and also created new goals for the upcoming year. By far, the biggest project tackled by CLI-TX last year was a complete remodel of its website. The recently completed website includes comprehensive information for the public about divorce and Collaborative family law and includes lots of information and tools for members of the organization. Kelly Caperton Fischer is speaking on the topic of "Retirement Assets and Employment Benefits" at the Family Law Essentials Course taking place on Friday, September 18, 2009, in Marble Falls. The event is presented by the Pro Bono committeee of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, the Highland Lakes Bar Association and Texas Rio Grande Legal Aid.
