Thomas L. Ausley started his legal career practicing law with the Austin firm of then named Brown, Maroney, Rose, Barber & Dye, now known as Brown McCarroll. While there, Tom litigated cases in several areas of civil law including worker's compensation and insurance defense cases. In 1975, Tom started his own law practice with a focus on general civil litigation and family law. Over the last 25 years, his law practice has evolved to focus primarily on family law.
In 1990, Tom added mediation and arbitration services to his law practice. Tom has taken over 50 hours of mediation training. Because collaborative family law seemed a logical extension of his existing family law and mediation practice, he completed the first ever Collaborative Family Law training in Texas in 2000.
